Kate and Gerry McCann hope three new investigators will help solve their daughter’s disappearance - as reported on Sunday, 10 October 2010.

Kate and Gerry McCann are convinced three new investigators will help solve their daughter’s disappearance and she told a friend yesterday: “A new team, new ideas and new hope!”

Chief investigator David Edgar has boosted his team with three former policemen: Nigel Brown, who was named Investigator Of The Year after securing the rescue of a kidnapped oil company executive, Dave Carter, who worked in Northern Ireland, and Ray Cooper, who investigated war crimes in Bosnia.  The three, paid by the Find Maddie Fund, are now in the Portuguese capital Lisbon.

What they are doing in Lisbon is beyond belief, they are probably on a sight seeing tour!

Kate has visited friends in Praia da Luz and went alone to the Catholic Church and wept as she prayed.  Just another return trip to the resort where her daughter, now seven years old, was snatched nearly three-and-a-half years ago.

A family source said: “Kate has been given fresh hope by her visit to ‘Luz’ and by the fact three new highly regarded investigators are injecting new impetus into the search for Madeleine. She didn’t meet the investigators but stayed with the local Anglican priest Father Haynes Hubbard and his wife Susan, who have become very close friends.  Well she couldn't meet the new "team", they are in Lisbon!

The McCann source said: “They are in Portugal on a semi- permanent basis. “When new leads come in they are there to chase them up. They are an ideal addition to the team and, in Gerry’s words, have vowed to leave no stone unturned. “Kate is upbeat because she is convinced they will have new ideas and methods of working, which gives her new hope.”

Family doctor Kate, 42, spent last weekend in Luz while relatives looked after her twins Sean and Amelia, five.  Passing the buck again.
I think the "Team" should gather their buckets and spades together and go and start digging in and around Praia da Luz

The brother of Gerry McCann has quit the Madeleine Fund amid a drive to inject new dynamism into the search for the missing seven-year-old.

John McCann has been a dedicated director since the fund was launched more than three years ago.  Latest company accounts show he left last month along with fellow director Douglas Skehan.

On their website, neither Kate nor Gerry McCann mentioned the names of the directors who have left.

The McCanns stated,  “There will be some changes and development in terms of strategy and ideas as we endeavour to leave no stone unturned in our search.  This will include some changes to the board of Madeleine’s Fund, simply to try to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of what we are doing. It has now been three years and four months since Madeleine was taken from us. None of us ever thought we’d still be in the position we are today. Inevitably there has to be change for a variety of reasons but importantly, this will also allow people to help and support us in different ways.  Regardless of change, everyone’s focus, commitment and desire continues to be that of finding Madeleine.”

Further comments continue with, “Keeping Madeleine’s image out there greatly increases our chances of finding her.  It is a reminder to people that she is still missing and to please keep looking for her."

It added, "In addition, we know that somebody knows where Madeleine is."

And a lot of people have a good idea who that somebody is!

The Truth of the Matter

This little girl went missing from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve on 3rd May 2007 when she was on holiday with her Parents and her twin siblings.
It is generally not known whether she is dead or alive. It IS known that had she not been left unattended and unprotected by her parents whilst they went out with friends to wine and dine she would be with them today.
The Parents Gerry and Kate McCann, both of whom are Doctors, and should have been more responsible looking after their children.

Another child is now being sought by the Portuguese Police after witnesses saw her being carried off following the possible murder of her Mother.    The suspect has been located in Germany but will not release the whereabouts of the child.

Speculation and accusation is rife!

Since 3rd May 2007 there has been, and probably will continue to be, much speculation about the facts surrounding the "disappearance" of Madeleine McCann, the 3 year old Daughter of Gerry and Kate McCann.  She disappeared late in the evening from her bedroom in their holiday apartment at the Mark Warner centre at Praia da Luz in the Algarve whilst her parents were dining with friends in a nearby Tapas Bar.
Many people have, in the light of the evidence produced by the Portuguese Police, considered that the parents may have been involved in some way.  Some people and Internet Blogs and Forums have even suggested that the child may have died in the apartment and there was collusion to cover up the "disappearance".   Much has been written about the evidence produced by the Portuguese Police, and also from the outside assistance received such as from the cadaver dogs brought in by the UK Police.
The Lawyers Carter Ruck, who have been engaged by the McCanns, have attempted to close down many Internet information sources generally issuing "threats" of legal action.  However such sites seem to reappear in other forms very quickly afterwards.
Irrespective of the speculation surrounding the case and the efforts of various agencies in finding the answers to Madeleine's disappearance one thing remains true and cannot be denied by the McCanns or Carter Ruck...
Therefore, whatever Madeleines present situation, dead or alive, it can only be attributed to the serious neglect by her parents at that time.  The blame lies solely with them but, as yet, they do not seem to accept this indisputable fact.
We don't think that even Carter Ruck can argue with that!  But we shall see.
Late info:

Kevin Halligen in Court with the McCanns

Wonder why the British Press missed this little juicy piece?

Halligen case is to be heard.

Place is at Horseferry Court, Court no. 3 at 10 am on 18th August.

Students for Madeleine McCann:
First her parents call her a 'marketing ploy', now she's a 'project'

Support: Students for Madeleine

"We know many students travel over the summer, take gap-year travel and also go places off the beaten path. We are launching a new initiative for students to help in the search for Madeleine.

If you would like to help with this project, please send the information below to:"

Well done McCanns you've gone and done it again haven't you?

Now you want to enlist students to help with your 'project', which just happens to be your missing daughter, Madeleine - but first you want to know all kinds of details about these students, like what University or school they go to, what they're studying, what social networking sites they use (don't forget to read the Gaspar statements kids), or whether they're travelling this year and where they're going!

What gives the McCanns the right to ask students, paticularly schoolchildren, to divulge personal information before they can sign up to help find their daughter when they didn't even search for her themselves because it was too dark? Dave Edgar, their private detective, told the media ten months ago that Madeleine is being held captive in a secret lair in a lawless village in Praia da Luz. Have they even searched there yet?

I wonder if the students will have to buy their good quality wristbands and travel packs, which consists of 10 English posters, 2 luggage tags, 2 wallet cards and a car sticker, from their online Madeleine store which still bears the date 2006.

See the link for the full story.

It seems that the new Government are to have a look at the Libel Laws and no doubt changes will be made.  We are reminded of two quotations:

There is a wide difference between speaking to deceive, and being silent to be impenetrable.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

An anonymous reader has raised the fact that Gerry McCann, when speaking about his cycle ride in the Etape to raise funds for the Limited Company formed to deal with the donated funds to find Madeleine, said:

"I finished 171st out of over 3500 finishers so there is not much room for improvement next year!"

Do we take it from that statement that he is not expecting to find Madeleine in the next 12 months and will wish to cycle for funds yet again?  From this can we also assume that he is privy to some information about the whereabouts of Madeleine that we are yet to have revealed?

Are Carter Ruck aware of the faux pas and also others made in the past?   We wonder what their reaction will be, or are they just content to continue relieving the Maddie fund on paying their (no doubt high) legal fees?

Sunday, 16 May 2010

Todays Sunday Express carries yet another "was it him" picture taken on the beach at PdL before Maddie disappeared.   Why does such rubbish take over 3 years to be brought before the public who, maybe at the time, could have given some assistance.

We have studied the picture and, quite frankly, it could be almost anyone, including Gerry McCann himself!   The story given by the woman who took the snap is quite plausible as there are plenty of "con men" and "beggers" in the Algarve who will dream up any story to gain a small donation.  We have been accosted by them ourselves but would not credit them with the intelligence to attempt abduction.

Quoting from another source:
In the case of an abduction, the waters are further muddied, but the sentiment and message is the same. The United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Juvenile Justice Bulletin, June 2000 states that in the case of the abduction of a child, their researches show that the parents are involved in 49% of cases, acquaintances in 27% and 24% of cases, a stranger.

We do not think that todays revelation will assist or enhance the current investigation.

He'll be there somewhere
A reader posted the following link to Gerry's 81 mile bike ride:

We visited the site and after reading the Limited Company history we moved to the "Donate" page.  We were confronted with the Objects of the Fund as follows:

The full objects of the Fund are:
To secure the safe return to her family of Madeleine McCann who was abducted in Praia da Luz, Portugal on Thursday 3rd May 2007;
To procure that Madeleine’s abduction is thoroughly investigated and that her abductors, as well as those who played or play any part in assisting them, are identified and brought to justice; and
To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family.
If the above objects are fulfilled then the objects of the Foundation shall be to pursue such purposes in similar cases arising in the United Kingdom, Portugal or elsewhere.
We would like to comment that there is no evidence that we have seen, from forensic means, by reliable witness statements or otherwise, indicating that Madeleine was actually abducted.  As there is NO such evidence there can only be a suspicion of an abduction having taken place and consequently there can be no certainty that there is, or was, an actual abductor.    Hence, the object of the fund is flawed in its conception by such references having been made.
Perhaps were better to change the wording to "who disappeared", "Madeleine's disappearance" and "anyone connected with her disappearance" etc. etc.
From the preceding it would therefore seem that the Fund Objectives have been specifically created to give support and financial assistance to the family.  Furthermore the final object (If the above objects are fulfilled) is TOTALLY conditional on the primary objects being achieved, therefore no other missing child or family will obtain any help from the fund whatsoever until the Madeleine case is solved - and maybe not even after that!
We have decided NOT to donate!

Madeleine Publicity Material

The "official" Find Madeleine web site is offering a set of publicity items so that the public can assist in spreading the word in the task of finding Madeleine.

The pack contains 10 posters,  a car sticker, 2 yellow ribboned luggage labels, and 2 purse reminder cards.  There is also a signed "Thank You" slip from Kate and Gerry.   The set costs a mere £1.75 and with postage at 96 pence each set must be heavily subsidised by the find maddie fund.   It is an excellent pack as can be seen below.

The Lack of News in the Madeleine Case Impedes its Re-Opening

Lisbon, 3rd May. The Portuguese authorities have not made any step to re-open the case of the British girl Madeleine McCann, who disappeared three years ago today, as no new evidence has emerged that justifies another investigation.

According to legal sources consulted by Efe, in spite of the statements periodically made by Madeleine’s parents and those that they made in their libel case against the ex PJ officer who related them to the death of their daughter, no new news has been made public about the case being re-opened.

With the event of the third anniversary of the disappearance of their daughter, Kate and Gerry McCann have appeared on various European TV stations and printed media to insist that their Daughter is alive and to ask for help in looking for her.

The couple, who in 2007, organised the biggest media campaign to gather funds ever seen in a case of a disappearance, have repeatedly said, without giving details, that they have new leads about their daughter’s possible fate.

But Portuguese Justice, which officially closed the case a year after the disappearance, can only re-open it with new evidence and formal denunciations made before the police.

The Portuguese Public Prosecutor, upon archiving the case on 21st July 2008 discounted the indications linking the McCanns to their daughter’s death as well as those that pointed to the abduction of the girl by some stranger.

After having declared them as official suspects in the case, the prosecutors also discarded acting against the couple for having left Madeleine, who was three years old on the night of her disappearance, alone with her younger siblings, whilst they dined with friends.
The couple state that they took turns in going to see the children, but in their statements and those of their friends, as well as the cadaver traces detected in their car and belongings, is where the Portuguese police found the greatest number of contradictions and suspicions in the case.

The Portuguese authorities, accused of not having acted rigorously during the first hours of the disappearance and neglecting the crime scene, never found a trace of the girl and were not even able to bring the couple’s friends back to Portugal for a re-construction of the facts.
The evidence they collected with the help of British police and dogs remained for months in a British laboratory which finally issued a report without sufficient certainty to implicate the parents or shed some light onto the case, according to statements by the then responsible Portuguese police officers.

The McCanns, who suddenly left Portugal when they were declared suspects in September 2007, returned last year to quarrel with the police officer who led the investigation, Gonçalo Amaral, dismissed and retired early and now in danger of ending up in ruin because of the couple’s law suit.

The book in which Amaral covers the details of the investigation – also gathered from the public summary of the case – and suggests that Madeleine died in an accidental manner and that the parents disposed of the body - was banned last February after a first victory of the British couple in the Portuguese civil courts.

Madeleine disappeared on 3rd May 2007 from an apartment in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve and the only thing that remains of her for the moment are the thousands of pages of a Portuguese investigation without guilty parties, and the images and comments of the web page her parents maintain.

The McCanns have always declared themselves to be innocent and determined to find their daughter to whom they today dedicated this message: “Madeleine. Still missing, still missed, we are still looking for you”..

A MUST to read!

This is the latest update as shown on the site.

Update: Saturday 13th March 2010

Today we joined hundreds of runners to take part in a 10km run in Hyde Park to support the work of the charity 'Missing People' (
'Miles for Missing People' is the first of what will now be an annual event.

Doesn't say much about their efforts to keep everyone in the picture being dated 13 March and now 7 weeks old!   Why also is there never any information about what the "detectives" hired by the McCanns are doing?   Surely they should be pushing out any information that could be useful in the efforts to find this litle girl?   Or is it that they are just on one great big "jolly" around Europe and the World at the expense of all those good people who have contributed millions to the Maddie Fund?

Why is there suddenly an apparent reduction in publicity and effort by the McCanns - is it a case of letting the whole thing gradually slide out of the limelight and disappear into the ether never to be returned to the light of day?   Is it an attempt to lull the public into forgetfulness and hope that they themselves will move into obscurity and everyone will forget they left their chldren alone and unprotected on that fateful day of 3rd May 2007?

It is about time we saw some positive contribution from the "detectives" even if only to justify the money being spent on any endeavours they may be making.

Kate and Gerry meet Lorraine

The latest publicity  when Kate and Gerry met Lorraine Kelly on GMTV

Thursday, 1 April 2010

We make no apologies for reprinting this item from Joanna Morais's Blog

by Julio Olvera

Nobody saw nor heard anything. The surveillance cameras of the luxurious apartment building did not register anything out of the ordinary either, in the case of a little four-year-old girl that mysteriously disappeared from her home in Mexico.

The case of Paulette Gebara Farah, a little girl that suffers from speech and motor impairment, immediately referred the local media to that of British girl Madeleine McCann, in a resort in Portugal, in 2007.

Both girls, aged four, disappeared in a strange way; no locks were forced, and no doors were broken; nothing to indicate an act of violence, or anything to indicate the presence of an intruder or an abductor.

The little Mexican girl disappeared in the early morning of Monday, the 22nd of March, from her home in a condominium in Huixquilucan county, an exclusive residential area on the border of the State of Mexico with the Federal District.

Paulette’s parents swiftly addressed the media and used the internet to ask the public for help in finding their little daughter, as part of a broad campaign, after having filed a complaint with the authorities.

Nevertheless, a week later, the case suffered a turnaround as a judge authorised the General Attorney’s Office of the State of Mexico (PGJEM) to preventively arrest Mauricio Gebara and his wife, Liseth Farah, as well as two nannies.

This was due to the fact that the child’s parents and the nannies were the last persons that had contact with the child, and because they offered different and contradictory versions in their statements.

Each one of these people “has falsified their statement”, Mexican prosecutor Alberto Bazbaz told the press on the day before.

“At this moment, we can say that derived from the extensive investigations, we are able to determine that at least the four adults that were inside the house, offered different and contradictory versions on different occasions, and therefore there are inconsistencies that drive us to make a deeper analysis of the facts”, he said.

According to versions by the little girl’s parents, on the night of Sunday, the 21st of March, Mauricio Gebara handed Paulette and her seven-year-old sister over to his wife Lisette Farah, at the entrance to the Porto Vita 2 condominium in Interlomas, west of the Mexican capital.

The father and the two girls were returning home, after a weekend trip to Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico.

In her statement, Mrs Farah asserted that, once inside her apartment, she led the two girls to their bedroom to put them to bed; nonetheless, the next morning, one of the nannies, upon arriving at the house, noticed that Paulette was not in her bed.

When faced with this situation, according to the versions, the nanny alerted the little girl’s parents, who started a search over the entire house and the building, where they found no trace of her.

According to the police, there are no images to confirm that the little girl was in the building between the evening of Sunday the 21st and the early morning of the 22nd; the building has surveillance cameras located on all entrances, restricted access to the parking area and 24-hour surveillance.

source: Hora Cero, 31.03.2010

Update: Paulette's body has been found inside her family's home. The child's parents and two nannies remain in preventive custody. Investigations are ongoing.

Further comparisons between the case of Paulette and that of Madeleine can be read on CNN Mexico. Curiously, the article ends by stating that the McCann couple asked for the reopening of the process of their daughter's disappearance - something that apparently has yet to happen.

The Book

Madeleine McCann
by Brian Johnson

is now available from

Read it and see what conclusion you come to!

Wednesday, 17 March 2010

Over the last few days we have been entertained by the Press with the story of a five year old Pakistani boy from Oldham who was abducted whilst visiting his Grandmother in Pakistan.    It would seem that the parents, and the Father in particular, worked with the Police Forces involved and a happy conclusion and the arrest of the suspects resulted. A ransom of £110,000 was apparently paid to gain the release of five-year-old Sahil Saeed, but this was probably under control and observation of the Police at every stage.
This incident just goes to illustrate that if you leave it to the experts and don't interfere with your own ideas a good outcome can result.

Isn't it rather peculiar that a ransom request has never been made in respect of little Madeleine McCann?

THE PUBLICITY MACHINE GRINDS ON and on and on. . . . .

She hasn't got time to look for the child she left in bed whilst they went out to drink and dine on that fateful evening on 3rd. May 2007.

But she has got time to pose for photographs and give interviews to the Radio, Television and Press.   This time it is a ten kilometer run and an interview with Aled Jones that we see plastered all over the place.  Not content with this the Sunday Express have also given space to that so called investigative reporter, Dolan MacIntyre, who following on from his unsuccessful hunt for Maddie now produces his "theory" as to the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence in York on 19 March last year.  As usual he is blaming the Police for the lady not yet having been found and his contribution today adds nothing whatsoever to the available information.

We see in the Sunday Express that Kate's interview with Aled Jones can be heard "on Radio 2 at 7.00 a.m. this morning" - thank goodness we were still tucked up and asleep in bed and were spared her special Mothering Sunday pleadings!  She was keen to tell the newspaper interviewer about her prayers for all and sundry especially the MEN who took Madeleine.  Why always MEN when there have been so many "sightings" of women with the child?

As usual the article in the paper is accompanied by another typically unflattering photograph which we have not reproduced.

Gerry does not get much of a mention!

Whatever happened to the Tapas Seven?   Have they abandoned the McCanns?   After receiving their £375,000 compensation from the National Press, have they given up on Maddie?  Or do they know something that we don't know?   Will they tell?

To all intents and purposes they appear to have disappeared as we now do not hear anything about them or their interest (if they have any) in the search or demise of little Madeleine.

Have the McCanns spoken to them regarding their interest in re-opening the case?  And will they participate in a reconstruction of that fateful evening without the need for "private jets" and "five star hotels"?

It would be nice to see what their feeling are about the whole matter after almost 3 years!

With all this speculation, suing, legal actions and the rest what will Carter Ruck's and the McCann's reaction be if Madeleine McCann is ultimately found DEAD and that it can be proved she had been DEAD since long before all the legal stuff started?

Will they apologise to Amaral and his family?
Will they apologise to the PL?
Will they repay any legal fees or compensation awarded should they win their various claims?

Will they HELL!

Wednesday, 3 March 2010

Once again today's Daily Express has devoted a page of its contents to an article about 50 eagle eyed "sightings" that have allegedly been ignored by the Portuguese Police.

These "sightings" include some from Police Officers to Security Guards and, no doubt, a plethora of other "responsible" people from as far away as New Zealand.   What the reporter does not mention however, is that all the people involved with these "sightings" appear to have done sweet Fanny Adams about reporting the facts on the spot or trying to rescue the little mite!

It is alleged by the Reporter that even a Police Officer failed to apprehend a woman who he saw with a Maddie look alike - ". . . when approached by Police the black-haired woman holding the child ran off".   Obviously either very slow Policemen or the woman was an Olympic athlete!  Or, more likely, the story has been concocted by a McCann supporter (there are some!) just to try to embarass such as the PJ.

There is no point dwelling on what has or has not happened, it is up to all to discover the truth of the case and apprehend any abductor or other person responsible for Maddie's disappearance.

Missing Madeleine star-date 2nd March 2010

We were totally amused to read the following piece in the Daily Star News web site:

 Missing Madeleine 2nd March 2010
By Jerry Lawton

POLICE have failed to investigate dozens of possible sightings of missing Madeleine McCann dating back almost two years.   Her parents claim detectives have also ignored tip-offs about possible suspects.
The case was shelved by Portuguese police in 2008.
But Kate and Gerry McCann, both 41, have asked Home Secretary Alan Johnson, 59, to demand that it is reopened.
A family pal said: “It is scandalous that police seem to have just washed their hands of this case.”

Has someone forgot to tell this individual that the McCanns decided that they could do a better job than the Police, and almost from the start commenced employing their own "detectives" and "detective agencies", who have all cost a lot and achieved very little?  Presumably as funds are running low they now want to move the financial burden back on the taxpayer and give the Police another opportunity to bring the case to a conclusion.

We just wonder what support the McCanns will give the Police in their endeavours!!!   Will they participate in a reconstruction or answer the questions put of them?   We shall see but don't hold your breath!

Sunday, 28 February 2010

Kate refused to answer the following questions so gave no help or assistance to the Portuguese Police in their endeavours to find her Daughter.

1 On 3 May 2007 at around 2200, when you entered the apartment what did you see and do, where did you look, and what did you touch?
2 Did you look inside the wardrobe in the bedroom? She said she wouldn't answer.
3 (Shown two photographs of the wardrobe) Can you describe its contents?
4 Why had the curtain behind the sofa in front of the side window (a photograph of which was shown to her), been disturbed? Had someone passed behind this sofa?
5 How much time did you spend searching in the apartment after realising that your daughter Madeleine had disappeared?
6 Why did you say from the start that Madeleine had been abducted?
7 Assuming that Madeleine had been abducted, why did you leave the twins alone at home to go to the Tapas to raise the alarm, not least because the supposed abductor could still be in the apartment?
8 Why did you not ask the twins at that moment what had happened to their sister, or why did you not ask them later?
9 When you raised the alarm in the Tapas what specific words were used?
10 What happened after raising the alarm at the Tapas?
11 Did you have a mobile phone with you at that moment?
12 Why did you go to warn your friends instead of shouting from the balcony?
13 Who contacted the authorities?
14 Who took part in the searches?
15 Did someone outside the group learn, in the moments that followed, of Madeleine's disappearance?
16 Did any neighbour offer you help after the alarm was raised about the disappearance?
17 What did the expression "we let her down" mean?
18 Did Jane tell you that she had seen a man carrying a child that night?
19 How were the authorities contacted and which police force was alerted?
20 During the searches after police arrived, in which places were Madeleine searched for, and in what way?
21 Why did the twins not wake up during the search or when they went upstairs? 22 Whom did you telephone after the discovery?
23 Did you call Sky News?
24 Did you know of any danger of calling the media alerting them of the abduction, since this could influence the abductor?
25 Did you request the presence of a priest?
26 In what way was the face of Madeleine, in photographs or by other means, released?
27 Is it true that during the search you remained seated on Madeleine's bed in your room without moving?
28 What was your behaviour like during that night?
29 Did you manage to sleep?
30 Before the trip to Portugal did you make a comment about a bad feeling or premonition about it?
31 What was Madeleine's behaviour like?
32 Did Madeleine suffer from any infirmity or take medication?
33 What was Madeleine's relationship like with her brother and sister, friends and fellow pupils?
34 Regarding your professional life, in how many hospitals and in which ones did you work?
35 What was your speciality as a doctor?
36 Do you work shifts in emergency wards or other departments?
37 Do you work in the daytime?
38 Why did you stop working at a certain point?
39 Is it true or not that the twins have difficulty falling asleep, that they are restless and that this upsets you?
40 Is it true or not that at certain times you felt desperate at your children's attitude and that this upsets you a lot?
41 Is it true or not that in England you went so far as thinking about handing over Madeleine to a relative to look after?
42 At home (in England) did you give medication to your children and what kind of medication?
43 (Various films had been shown to her of the inspection by forensic dogs, where one can see their signalling indications of the scent of a human corpse and traces of human blood as well as the comments by the expert overseeing the exercise.) Having seen the film and after the scent of a corpse was signalled in her bedroom near the wardrobe, and behind the sofa by the window in the sitting room, Kate McCann said she could not explain anything more than she already had.
44 She was asked about the sniffer dog that signalled human blood behind the above-mentioned sofa. She said she could not explain anything more than she already had.
45 She was asked about the scent of corpse which was signalled in the vehicle she hired about a month after the disappearance, with number plate 59-DA-27. She said she could not explain anything more than she already had.
46 When the presence of human blood was signalled in the boot of the same vehicle Kate McCann said she could not explain anything more than she already had.
47 Confronted with the result of the sample of Madeleine's DNA, whose analysis was carried out by a British laboratory, found behind the sofa and in the boot of the vehicle, as previously described, Kate McCann said she could not explain anything more than she already had.
48 Did you have any responsibility or involvement in the disappearance of your daughter Madeleine?
49 Are you aware that the fact of your not answering the questions put to you jeopardise the investigation that was aimed at finding out what happened to your daughter, she answered: "Yes, if the investigation thinks that."
50 Do you have anything to add? She said: "No."
51 Her lawyer was asked to comment. He said he had nothing to state or request.

Sunday, 21 February 2010

Hmm - Tricky one this, but bound to be good for a few votes!
Being such "important people" and more deserving that the rest of the UK population Kate and Gerry McCann have sought the assistance of  David Cameron to help find their daughter Madeleine at a half hour private meeting with the Tory Leader.  Well, almost private, as Andy Coulson, the Tory director of communications, and Clarence Mitchell were also present.

Apparently, Cameron said that if he became Prime Minister he would do all he could to give the case priority and do anything in his power to discover what happened to Madeleine and relieve the frustration and disappointment the McCanns had suffered.

It has also been disclosed that last week the McCanns also had a private meeting with Home Secretary Alan Johnson.  His reaction seems to have been less positive.

We cannot understand if this latest publicity stunt was for the benefit of Madeleine, her Parents "search" Fund, the would be PM Cameron, or Clarence Mitchell who is hoping to win a seat at the next General Election?  Your guess is as good as ours.

It is also reported that on Friday last, Kate McCann was very tearful as she spoke of the “heartbreaking” failure by police to follow up new leads.    Did their own Private Dicks do any better we wonder, apparently not!

Maybe if Kate and Gerry got off their arses and started actually looking for Madeleine themselves they may find her.  After all they were the last ones to see her alive!  They could start in PdL and the surrounding area.

Gerry and Kate McCann, no matter what they say, do, or who they sue, will ALWAYS be GUILTY of leaving their three young children alone and unattended and open to danger on the evening of 3rd May 2007.  Irrespective of the final outcome of the alleged abduction of Madeleiene they will forever have to carry this guilt on their shoulders and in their hearts.

It seems to us that throughout the period of the investigation the simple fact of their treatment of their children on that fateful evening has been given second place.  Perhaps if they had been prosecuted for this act of neglect at the outset the enquiries could have taken a different turn and the Police efforts given a useful boost.

Despite the result of the McCann - v- Amaral bout that was decided in the Lisbon Court this week, there is still much support for this amiable detective and his theories.  One must realise that his conclusions were not just fanciful ideas, but were drawn from the results of the Police enquiries and evidence gleaned during the investigation of Madeleine's disappearance.  And, of course, his and his team's years of experience.

We believe Madeleine is dead, our family and friends believe Madeleine is dead and almost everyone we speak to, believes Madeleine is dead.  Any abductor, if ever there was one, has nothing whatsoever to gain by keeping her alive.   The enormous reward on offer has yet to be claimed which is another indication that despite such a large sum no one is able or prepared to come forward.  Such a sum would normally encourage someone to grass on their best friend, or even their family, but so far it has brought forward absolutely nothing.  Perhaps this indicates that the circle of people with the knowledge is either very small, or restricted to those who would have nought to gain by presenting the facts.

We wonder if the McCanns have yet learnt the lesson of leaving the children unattended.

We see that the McCanns are now crying over the fact that they do not seem to be getting any help from the Portuguese or English Police when "leads" are reported to them.  We are not surprised.

Perhaps if the McCanns had left the Police in both countries to do their jobs instead of interfering by producing their own monstrous publicity campaign and by employing their own Detectives, the Police would have got on with the job and we may have seen a positive result by now.  We are sure that both Forces dislike the McCanns efforts to criticise the work they were doing and as such we think they have now all but left the McCanns to their own devices.

The present private dicks do not seem to have done anything useful and, in fact, have probably had a negative effect on the matter by apparently just attempting to find a scape goat and assisting in the depletion of the Find Madeleine Fund.  For so called intelligent individuals the McCanns can certainly make some peculiar decisions!

If the McCanns want the case re-opened, as they are suggesting, then first they must "call off the dogs", give the Police ALL the help they can and get the rest of the Tapas group to do the same.   Some honest statements need to be made, and possibly a genuine reconstruction in PdL of the events of 3 May 2007 with ALL of those involved present.   The amount of work and cost that will be involved could maybe be considered as unjustified when the central figure may well be beyond finding, or even dead.  The McCanns fighting fund could, of course, be handed over to the Police to offset the cost to the taxpayer!

The PORTUGUESE Law is an ass.   Or at least this is our opinion having heard the news that the injunction banning Amaral's Book remains in force.

However, what the McCanns and the Portuguese Courts CANNOT do, is have all the books that have been sold and are in circulation, banned or re-called.  We have copies of both the Portuguese and English Text of the book "The Truth of The Lie" and we can lend it to as many people who wish to read it.

We could even point people to Web Sites where the text can be downloaded if we wished and if we were asked.  We will just have to have a quick look at the legal position first as we would hate to give the McCanns any opportunity to sue us!   Wouldn't do them much good however - you can't get blood from a stone, as they say!

The Black Market will be alive with pirate copies within days, or even hours with modern technology.  In fact it could be made available as a download within a very short time.

Of course there are also other similar books available that explore the "evidence" of the alleged abduction and draw similar conclusions to Mr Amaral, they have been ignored by the McCanns, why we wonder!  Is it a case of persecute the prosecutor who was old enough and wise enough to realise the Truth of the Lies?  Time will tell.

We have always been intrigued by Kate McCann's comments that she "...always feels closer to Madeleine..." when she is on the Beach at Praia da Luz, and particularly when she is near the rocks.

Our thoughts are that if one was to bury someone they loved, and who had maybe died due to a tragic accident, they would surely leave a marker of some sort to record the position of the burial site.

Is there a good photograph of the rocks at PdL beach taken prior to 3 May 2007?   And is there one taken some months later that would maybe show that one or two rocks had been moved?   What an ideal marker they would make especially if they (or it) was heavy and required maybe two men to move it.   Are you getting the drift?   Or is such a suggestion a little too far fetched?

A very interesting link and a fantastic insight into the "media guru" behind the McCanns!

There is a concensus of opinion that the Madeleine McCann case will not be solved until more work and research is done by the Portuguese Police.  The co-operation they have received so far from the McCanns and their Friends, the so called Tapas seven, has been abysmal.  The McCanns have decided that they are best qualified, together with their hired detectives, who have so far proved to be totally ineffective, to solve to mystery of Madeleine's disappearance.
It is about time that the Portuguese Police were allowed to continue their investigations, and a Petition has been organised to request a re-opening of the case.   In this respect the McCanns should give their utmost assistance and at least agree to a full reconstruction of the events of 3rd May 2007.
The petition can be found here:

We have just returned from 14 days in Portugal and during our time there sought the opinion of both Portuguese people and ex-pats on the Madeleine alleged abduction.
The initial reaction on every occasion was that "such a crime does not happen in Portugal".  On being pressed this was qualified by "the crime of abduction by a stranger does not happen in Portugal".
Without exception everyone considered that whatever happened to Madeleine, if she had been abducted, was the fault of the parents leaving the children unattended and that the McCanns should have been immediately prosecuted.   Most people were also of the opinion that the parents could be involved in the events of May 3rd and many were prepared to state that they agreed with the conclusions arrived at by Detective Amaral.  It was obvious from some of the conversations that many had a good understanding of all the details of the case and were following all the happenings with total interest.
Much off the "evidence" and "theories" attached to Madeleines disappearance were well understood by the majority and this was kept before them by the Portuguese Media.   They considered that the British Media Circus being created by the McCanns was doing little to attract any sympathy and considered as counter productive.  Most felt more effort should be put into the actual search.  Why were the McCanns convinced that they should continue fund raising when their Daughter could be found at any time?
Many other questions were asked and discussed, all of which have been raised in the past on this Blog and by various links - so interest was indeed high.  It was generally considered that the chance of finding Madeleine alive was very remote, as with such World wide publicity she would be of little use to any abducter.
It was interesting from our point of view how similar the thoughts were of those we spoke to in Portugal, and how their reasoning and conclusions so closely met those of many UK people we have also interviewed.

The above link has been sent to the Blog and as it directs one to a publically available Web Site we are publishing it for anyone who is interested.  After watching the video you may form your own opinion as to the truth or otherwise of the details.
We have certainly formed ours!

We have suddenly realised that through all the reports in the Press, Television, Radio and the rest of the media we have not yet seen any comment from anyone who in any way is associated with the day-to-day lives of the McCann family.
We have not seen any mention about them from the local, butcher, baker or candle-stick maker.  Not a word from their neighbours, people in their local community, work colleagues or anyone associated with them.  It appears that they must live a World apart from anyone and everyone in the Rothley or Leicestershire area.
Funny olde World we live in!

Now we see that the McCanns have organised a "celebration" party for the rich and affluent at a cost of 150 UKP per head to commemorate the 1000th day since Madeleine went missing.
We just hope that all those who will so generously give at the event will remember that Maddie went "missing" as a result of being left alone, unsupervised and unprotected by those same "parents" who will greet them at this gastronomic dinner.
Maybe Maddie is, in fact, better where she is now than being connected with such hypocritical guardians.
BRANSON, KENNEDY and the rest would be better giving to a more worthwhile charity that the McCann survival fund, for that it what it seems to have become!
It is presumed that the doting parents are NOT expecting to find Maddie prior to the big day?  That should ring a thousand bells to any half intelligent policeman!

From all the TV exposure and news items, this McCann woman has the most miserable expression on her face we have ever seen.  All an ACT obviously.  How she expects to gain public sympathy from such terrible acting beggers belief!
Definitely NOT an Oscar winning performance!
Waiting for the details of todays activities in court.

The general concensus of opinion amongst the Portuguese that I have found so far, is that they are solidly supporting Amaral.  One comment is their surprise that a Detective can be dismissed from a case on the word of those being investigated.

de Freitas will not testify

The English cop, incidentally with a Portuguese name (José de Freitas), was the liaison officer between the Portuguese and English authorities and the McCann couple. On several occasions he accompanied Kate and Gerry, who would be constituted as arguidos, after being confronted with evidence of human blood and cadaver odor in the apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, Lagos. The traces - remember - were detected by the English dogs "Eddie" and "Keela".
Jose de Freitas is unwilling to testify at Amaral hearing!
