NON CO-OPERATION OR ???

We see that the McCanns are now crying over the fact that they do not seem to be getting any help from the Portuguese or English Police when "leads" are reported to them.  We are not surprised.

Perhaps if the McCanns had left the Police in both countries to do their jobs instead of interfering by producing their own monstrous publicity campaign and by employing their own Detectives, the Police would have got on with the job and we may have seen a positive result by now.  We are sure that both Forces dislike the McCanns efforts to criticise the work they were doing and as such we think they have now all but left the McCanns to their own devices.

The present private dicks do not seem to have done anything useful and, in fact, have probably had a negative effect on the matter by apparently just attempting to find a scape goat and assisting in the depletion of the Find Madeleine Fund.  For so called intelligent individuals the McCanns can certainly make some peculiar decisions!

If the McCanns want the case re-opened, as they are suggesting, then first they must "call off the dogs", give the Police ALL the help they can and get the rest of the Tapas group to do the same.   Some honest statements need to be made, and possibly a genuine reconstruction in PdL of the events of 3 May 2007 with ALL of those involved present.   The amount of work and cost that will be involved could maybe be considered as unjustified when the central figure may well be beyond finding, or even dead.  The McCanns fighting fund could, of course, be handed over to the Police to offset the cost to the taxpayer!

BOOK REMAINS BANNED -

The PORTUGUESE Law is an ass.   Or at least this is our opinion having heard the news that the injunction banning Amaral's Book remains in force.

However, what the McCanns and the Portuguese Courts CANNOT do, is have all the books that have been sold and are in circulation, banned or re-called.  We have copies of both the Portuguese and English Text of the book "The Truth of The Lie" and we can lend it to as many people who wish to read it. 

We could even point people to Web Sites where the text can be downloaded if we wished and if we were asked.  We will just have to have a quick look at the legal position first as we would hate to give the McCanns any opportunity to sue us!   Wouldn't do them much good however - you can't get blood from a stone, as they say!

The Black Market will be alive with pirate copies within days, or even hours with modern technology.  In fact it could be made available as a download within a very short time.

Of course there are also other similar books available that explore the "evidence" of the alleged abduction and draw similar conclusions to Mr Amaral, they have been ignored by the McCanns, why we wonder!  Is it a case of persecute the prosecutor who was old enough and wise enough to realise the Truth of the Lies?  Time will tell.

MORE THAN SANDCASTLES ON THE BEACH

We have always been intrigued by Kate McCann's comments that she "...always feels closer to Madeleine..." when she is on the Beach at Praia da Luz, and particularly when she is near the rocks.

Our thoughts are that if one was to bury someone they loved, and who had maybe died due to a tragic accident, they would surely leave a marker of some sort to record the position of the burial site.  

Is there a good photograph of the rocks at PdL beach taken prior to 3 May 2007?   And is there one taken some months later that would maybe show that one or two rocks had been moved?   What an ideal marker they would make especially if they (or it) was heavy and required maybe two men to move it.   Are you getting the drift?   Or is such a suggestion a little too far fetched?

There is a concensus of opinion that the Madeleine McCann case will not be solved until more work and research is done by the Portuguese Police.  The co-operation they have received so far from the McCanns and their Friends, the so called Tapas seven, has been abysmal.  The McCanns have decided that they are best qualified, together with their hired detectives, who have so far proved to be totally ineffective, to solve to mystery of Madeleine's disappearance.

It is about time that the Portuguese Police were allowed to continue their investigations, and a Petition has been organised to request a re-opening of the case.   In this respect the McCanns should give their utmost assistance and at least agree to a full reconstruction of the events of 3rd May 2007.

The PORTUGUESE PERSPECTIVE

We have just returned from 14 days in Portugal and during our time there sought the opinion of both Portuguese people and ex-pats on the Madeleine alleged abduction.

The initial reaction on every occasion was that "such a crime does not happen in Portugal".  On being pressed this was qualified by "the crime of abduction by a stranger does not happen in Portugal".
.
Without exception everyone considered that whatever happened to Madeleine, if she had been abducted, was the fault of the parents leaving the children unattended and that the McCanns should have been immediately prosecuted.   Most people were also of the opinion that the parents could be involved in the events of May 3rd and many were prepared to state that they agreed with the conclusions arrived at by Detective Amaral.  It was obvious from some of the conversations that many had a good understanding of all the details of the case and were following all the happenings with total interest.

Much off the "evidence" and "theories" attached to Madeleines disappearance were well understood by the majority and this was kept before them by the Portuguese Media.   They considered that the British Media Circus being created by the McCanns was doing little to attract any sympathy and considered as counter productive.  Most felt more effort should be put into the actual search.  Why were the McCanns convinced that they should continue fund raising when their Daughter could be found at any time?
.
Many other questions were asked and discussed, all of which have been raised in the past on this Blog and by various links - so interest was indeed high.  It was generally considered that the chance of finding Madeleine alive was very remote, as with such World wide publicity she would be of little use to any abducter.
.
It was interesting from our point of view how similar the thoughts were of those we spoke to in Portugal, and how their reasoning and conclusions so closely met those of many UK people we have also interviewed.

NO FRIENDS OR RELATIONS?

We have suddenly realised that through all the reports in the Press, Television, Radio and the rest of the media we have not yet seen any comment from anyone who in any way is associated with the day-to-day lives of the McCann family.

We have not seen any mention about them from the local, butcher, baker or candle-stick maker.  Not a word from their neighbours, people in their local community, work colleagues or anyone associated with them.  It appears that they must live a World apart from anyone and everyone in the Rothley or Leicestershire area.

JOIN THE PARTY

Now we see that the McCanns have organised a "celebration" party for the rich and affluent at a cost of 150 UKP per head to commemorate the 1000th day since Madeleine went missing.

We just hope that all those who will so generously give at the event will remember that Maddie went "missing" as a result of being left alone, unsupervised and unprotected by those same "parents" who will greet them at this gastronomic dinner.

Maybe Maddie is, in fact, better where she is now than being connected with such hypocritical guardians.

BRANSON, KENNEDY and the rest would be better giving to a more worthwhile charity that the McCann survival fund, for that it what it seems to have become!

It is presumed that the doting parents are NOT expecting to find Maddie prior to the big day?  That should ring a thousand bells to any half intelligent policeman!

EVERYONE IS BEHIND AMARAL

The general concensus of opinion amongst the Portuguese that I have found so far, is that they are solidly supporting Amaral.  One comment is their surprise that a Detective can be dismissed from a case on the word of those being investigated.

The English cop, incidentally with a Portuguese name (José de Freitas), was the liaison officer between the Portuguese and English authorities and the McCann couple. On several occasions he accompanied Kate and Gerry, who would be constituted as arguidos, after being confronted with evidence of human blood and cadaver odor in the apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, Lagos. The traces - remember - were detected by the English dogs "Eddie" and "Keela".

JUST A PICTURE

This picture was taken very late in the evening in one of the narrow "Bar" streets of Albufeira in the Algarve of Portugal.  The girl was about 7 or 8 years old and the baby was probably about 12 months.  The child's "mother" or "minder" was a few yards down the very narrow pedestrian road also begging.  She regularly collected money from the child and it amazed me how generous people were.  The male "pimp" was also hanging around and collected cash from the woman.  A sort of "family" business.

It makes  one wonder if Madeleine could end up in such a position if she has actually been abducted?

The seven witnesses that Dr.Amaral will call during his trial (hearing) with the Mccanns commencing on 12 January 2010.
1) Magalhães e Meneses, the Public Ministry prosecutor who held the main prosecution file on Madeleine
2) PJ Chief Inspector Tavares de Almeida, the detective who compiled the powerful report dated 10 September 2007 which concluded that there were strong indications that Madeleine had died in Apartment 5A, adding in his report that “from what has been established up to now, everything indicates that the McCann couple, in self-defence, did not want to deliver up Madeleine’s corpse immediately and voluntarily, and there is a strong possibility therefore that it was moved from the initial place where she died”
3) PJ Inspector and McCann family liaison officer, Ricardo Paiva, who was at the heart of the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance
4) National-Joint Director of PJ in Faro Guilhermino Encarnação,
5) The PJ's Serious Crime Unit Director Luís Neves,
6) The former Judiciary Police Inspector and Criminologist, Francisco Moita Flores, the one who famously said that it would be ‘one of the 10 or 12 individuals’ in what has been called the ‘Tapas 9’ group that was most likely to know what really happened to Madeleine, and finally,

This is a Translation of an Interview with Goncalo Amaral and brings out one very good point.

Dr.Amaral makes a reference to Madeleines eye and The Coloboma that has been a distinguishing feature of her appearance since she first disappeared.   Apparently, the McCanns refused to give the Portuguese Police access to Madeleine's medical records.  We find this most unusual but follows the other Acts of the parents in not sharing information.
.
It is known that a Coloboma may hide some very serious illness. Goncalo Amaral finds it odd that, if this is the case,  Madeleine's mother Kate, never suggests to any abductor or warns them that Madeline has any health problem or of her need for any regular or other Medication.
.
Amaral is even more concerned why the McCanns do not want the case re opened?  Surely if they REALLY wanted to find their child they would do absolutely everything in their power to assist.  Is their negative reaction to such a request a matter of "self preservation" or do they really feel that it would be a useless exercise and do nothing to assist in finding their Daughter?

Maybe all the speculation about what happened on the evening of 3rd. May 2007 will soon be shown to be the most likely solution.

It is reported that the McCanns will be marking yet another "special" day for their Daughter, Madeleine, who disappeared after she was so cruely left alone with her two younger siblings whilst her parents left for an evening of revelry with their friends.

January 2010 will mark the 1000th day since little Maddie went missing.

Why, oh why do these McCanns keep almost "celebrating" these days and expecting the rest of us to do likewise?  We would prefer to celebrate the day that Maddie was found, or they were brought to justice for at least the act of abandoning their children on that fateful evening.   The law has let them off completely whereas others doing a similar act would be encarcerated in one of her Majesty's penal institutions.

According to the first comment this post has received the McCann camp are now apparently establishing "time lines" as to when she will be found.  How absurd it is for them to suggest that a certain time will pass before Maddie is found!!  Unless, of course, someone knows where she is and is going to make the fateful "discovery" at some pre-ordained time and place in the future!  Maybe after they have sold all the merchandise!

Such comments do little to convince Joe Public that the group are less than innocent in the whole charade, which after all, is what it has almost become.

DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR?

Question: How can any parent who claims their child has been abducted not know at any moment she may be found?  How can one even suggest a forthcoming event when the future is so uncertain?  Or did he know something that is not yet public knowledge?

Of course had the child not been left unattended  and open to danger there would not have been any chance of an abduction.  Why did they not use the Mark Warner baby sitting service?  The cost would have only represented a few glasses of wine which they seem to consume quite regularly and with great gusto!

There are many who think that the McCanns should recognise their own guilt regarding the disappearance of their Daughter and the main reason that she is not with them to share this time, which we all recognise as the special time for all the children in the World.

Their guilt lies in the undisputed fact that they left Madeleine and their other two very young children, UNATTENDED AND OPEN TO DANGER, whilst they went out with their friends to wine and dine. In other words they were more interested in their own enjoyment than the SAFETY of their offspring.

Even if Madeleine is found she does not deserve to be returned to her parents, as they are certainly not deserving of her affection after they showed such scant regard for her wellbeing and that of her siblings.

The HEARING that was not HEARD

Yesterday the Court in Lisbon was to hold the Hearing regarding the ban on Amaral's Book, The Truth of the Lie. Due to the quarantine imposed on Amaral's Lawyer the case has been put back until 12 January 2010. The McCanns will have to wait until then to see if their claim for damages of £1M will be granted.

TELL ALL BEFORE YOU DIE!

Today's Daily Express reports that Raymond Hewlett, an admitted paedophile, is still being considered by the ex police officers** working for the McCanns, as being responsible for the demise of Madeleine. ** Dave Edgar and Arthur Crowley, who do not appear to have made one valuable contribution to the effort since being employed over a year ago!

They say that he fits the description and pock marked person given in the description by Jayne Tanner. But if we remember rightly Ms Tanner could not have seen a pock marked face at the time, and in the gloom, of the night that she states. Also was the pock marked description only presented after Mr Hewlett had been mentioned as a possible suspect through having been in Luz at the time? And whatever happened to the "droopy" moustache? Who is trying to kid who?

We don't know about other folk - but we think there is a case here of "lets pin the disappearance of Madeleine on this man who has just a short period to live and then we can put the case to bed and release the McCanns of any suspicion"!

Despite Raymond Hewlett's confessions regarding other incidents in his life, he has strenuously resisted any effort to get a confession from him regarding Madeleine McCann's abduction or disappearance. If he had been involved in Maddie's disappearance, we think that having "cleared his concience" of his other transgressions, he would automatically have mentioned every incident with which he was connected.

We consider that despite the man's past, and having made his peace with his God, he should be allowed to die with the dignity we all deserve at such a time, rather than being made a skapegoat for parents who are content to leave their young children unattended and open to danger whilst they follow their social activities.

McCANNS SILENCE THE BLOGS or TRY!

It seems pretty obvious from the activities of the McCanns legal beagles, Carter Ruck, that they are doing everything in their power to shut down every Blog, Forum and Web Site where there is any discussion to do with the "disappearance" of the McCann's Daughter Madeleine on 3rd May 2007.

Whilst they may do their best to do so they must realise that as one is closed down, another one will open. Why are the McCanns spending so much of the Find Madeleine Fund on legal expenses which are merely being used to remove speculation or suspicion about possible involvement of themselves in the "disappearance"? And also to attempt to discredit a very experienced Detective in the Portuguese Police and even get his books banned when all he is doing is repeating details of the "evidence" obtained by the PJ during the investigation into Maddies "disappearance"? Can the McCanns get the publically available statements of all those questioned by the PJ removed and banned from publication? We doubt it, and whilst such information is in the public domain speculation, suspicion and opinion will continue to be expressed.

We are surprised that the McCanns are not out and about themselves looking for their child, which is something they did not do effectively even in the minutes and hours after her "abduction". They spent more time organising the media, printing leaflets and more inportantly refusing to assist the PJ by answering questions which may have helped the Police to bring the matter to a swift conclusion.

.

The more the McCanns continue with their legal battles against all and sundry,the less respect (if there is any left), they will get from the public at large. Continuing in this vein will also only serve to convince many people that the speculation and opinions being voiced about their possible involvement could, in fact, be closer to the truth.

.

Why do the McCanns need to use a Company who number amongst their clients such as high profile individuals, heads of state, heads of government, senior politicians, diplomats, leading business people, celebrities and prominent figures in the fields of entertainment, media and sport, sovereign states, government ministries, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, charities, multinational corporations and companies? They say their Media clients cover the whole industry, newspaper, magazine, book and online publishers and broadcasting organisations.

The Fees of such a high profile Firm must really be depleting the Maddie Fund of cash donated by the the Public for the purpose of FINDING the child. Spending the Fund on lavish travel, high profile interviews and Legal fees will warn the public not to give any more. This event is turning into a major farce the longer it goes on, with the McCanns playing the leading roles, and with a full supporting cast of Lawyers, PR and other "helpers"!

The Cancelled Reconstruction

The Portuguese Police felt that by holding a full reconstruction of the events of that evening with the actual persons taking their own roles they would be in a position to further explore the evidence they had alrady assembled and clarify any areas of uncertainty. . Despite assurances given by the Police as to the safety of the McCanns and the others in the party the reconstruction had to be cancelled as there was a refusal by them to take part. Not exactly what one would expect from doting parents and their "friends" desperate to locate a missing youngster. . A TRUE INCIDENT in the ALGARVE

I want to take this time to digress briefly from the Madeleine story to tell of a happening just over 4 years ago.

A couple were staying at the Vila Gale Cerro Alagoa Hotel in Albufeira and were almost at the end of their 2 week holiday. In the middle of one night the lady needed to visit the bathroom in the process of which she had an unfortunate accident. Somehow she slipped on the bathroom floor and hit her head on the marble floor. However, she returned to bed and slept until the morning.

In the morning the husband found it difficult to wake her up and when she did awake her speech was garbled and it became obvious that something was wrong. She was able to explain that she had fallen but little else. There was no sign of blood or any wound to the head but nevertheless a Doctor was called. The Doctor was unable to give any firm diagnosis and a Scan of the wife's head was arranged at the Albufeira Radiological unit which was only 5 minutes away.

Immediately on completion of the scan the Radiologist urgently summoned an Ambulance and the lady was rushed at Faro Hospital 30 miles away where a Specialist in head trauma was waiting to meet her. Shortly afterwards an emergency operation was performed to drain a massive haemotoma on the left side of the head and also to repair a fracture in the skull. This was followed by 12 days in the hospital for recovery and observation to ensure that no brain damage had occured.

Fortunately no blood had leaked into the brain and there was no brain damage, and the lady made a normal recovery.

.

The point of this tale, which is totally true, is to point out that invariably all the floors in Algarvian property are either tiled, marble or some other very hard substance and are generally without carpets.

.

Now if the person falling from, say the back of a setee or a windowsill, had been a small child, could the consequences have been more serious? We leave you to ponder.

Defamation - no action

From what we have seen so far the McCanns have done everything to suppress any suggestion that they had anything to do with the disappearance of their Daughter, Madeleine, apart,of course, from leaving her together with her siblings, unattended in the apartment whilst they went to dinner. We and many others are assuming that all the Lawyers fees they are incurring are being paid for out of their own pocket and not from the "Find Madeleine" Fund. Unless that fund is now so organised that it can be used for anything to do with the McCanns daily lives including legal action against all and sundry. It is noted that, as yet, they have not issued proceedings for Defamation. Should they ever decide to do so it will be up to them to prove that what has been said or written is not true, rather than the defence to prove that it is true. Such a case would be very interesting as they would then be the subject of very rigorous scrutiny.

Skinning the Kat

The Madeleine McCann abduction mystery seems to be full of so many twists and turns that it would make an interesting case for Hercule Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple and every other fictional and non-fictional detective. We now learn that that Metodo 3 who were employed by the McCanns to find Maddie had never found a missing child in their lives despite bragging to the contrary. It seems that their reputation is not as "squeeky clean" as it should be and that the company and individuals have tarnished reputations. Kevin Halligen who was also employed by the McCanns made wild promises to them but only came up with a Google Earth Image that was less than useless for the extotionate amount of money they paid . He is now being sought in connection with a £1m con and should never have been engaged in the search. For many months now the Maddie investigation has been carried out by two English detectives but yet again has not come up with any positive or useful evidence that we have seen. This all makes one wonder if the McCanns are using all the donations made by the public in a wise and efficient manner. Together with the vast publicity machine and propaganda, and employing questionable "experts" from soothsayers to investigators, the total spend must be well over 7 figures, and so far all to no avail. The McCanns themselves seem to be doing very little apart from paying out these vast sums to all and sundry. Maybe it is time for them to get up off their backsides, cease their "all expenses paid" trips all over the globe, and return to Portugal and start again from scratch. Possibly even meet with Detective Amaral - but no - that would too much to expect!

New Pictures Maddie at 6

Recently we were treated to the age progressed impressions of what Maddie would possibly look like now that she is 6 years old.

All very fine but surely any abductor would disguise the child and not leave her in the same style as she was at 3 years old? Unless, of course, they were total idiots! Talking of which, whoever made up these "age progressed" images should have considered that her hair could have been shortened and re-styled and her whole appearance changed. She could have curls or ringlets or plaits or any one of many styles that are used by young children today. She could even be disguised and dressed as a boy which would not be difficult to carry off, even with her childs voice!

Why on Earth did they not consider all these aspects? It is so unlikely that Maddie still resembles her 3 year old image or even the 6 year old impression. It makes one wonder if those responsible for this latest publicity really wanted her to be found! The seven languages in which the video was produced is worthless if the images are less than helpful.

MADDIE ABDUCTOR -v- SCOTLAND YARD

Today's Press report that the services of Scotland Yard and Britains top abduction squad are being asked to get involved with the Madeleine McCann (alleged) abduction case. Perhaps if the McCanns had not been so keen to criticise the Portuguese Police and decide on their own course of action we may have seen the case solved and an arrest made long ago, in fact within days or weeks of the alleged offence. We have read The Truth of the Lie, by Detective Amaral and the evidence presented gives an indication as to where the truth is. The most convincing is the smell of death unearthed by the trained ENGLISH dogs who found this evidence by the sofa in the lounge, in a wardrobe in the parents bedroom and in the car they hired. The other evidence points out discrepancies in the statements given by the various members of the holiday group together with other evidence gleaned from ordinary people who were witness to various incidents that happened around the apartment and in Luz itself. The McCanns have spent a veritble fortune on publicity, travel, PR gurus, spokespersons and private detective agencies and the presently employed detectives all to no avail. The World will probably be delighted to see the specialist British squad get involved and the whole matter brought to a conclusion. The Portuguese will give them all the assistance they need. However, do not denegrate what the Portuguese Police have done as the McCanns themselves appear to do. They were operating in a difficult situation with un-cooperative people who condemned their actions from day one and according to Amaral's book were more interested in defending their own position than helping to find the answers. It cannot happen soon enough, the World is waiting!

MAIL ORDER MADDIE - NEW THEORY

It is now thought that Madeleine McCann may have been the subject of a "snatch to order".

MORE RED HERRINGS

This is a photograph of a littel girl seen in Sweden who it is suggested may be Maddie. A photographic comparison shows certain similarities in the facial characteristics which leads some to believe that it could be Maddie. Assuming that she is being seen openly in the area in which she was photographed it is, to our mind, extremely unlikely that she is the missing child.

The publicity machine continues to operate.

MADDIE MADNESS

The Sunday Express is at it again! They are obviously without a decent cover story so have filled the front page with further revelations of the Madeleine McCann investigation.

After the last one about the alleged perpetrator being IN the apartment whilst Gerry was inspecting the children, it now seems that according to these investigative, ex-police, professionals, the person obtained entry by the use of a KEY, possibly left under the door mat! **

What utter CRAP! We have been going to the Algarve for almost 40 years and have never yet seen a door mat outside the front (or back) door of any Algarvian property. The McCanns have these so called Detectives clutching at straws in an effort to keep the investigation and publicity machines alive and remove any suspicion away from themselves, who so blatantly left their three young children alone whilst they went to enjoy themselves.

In the same issue of the paper(sic) they suggest that the British Government should supply funds to give added impetus to the investigation and go over all past evidence and seek for new clues. We are sure that there are thousands of people who would welcome this suggestion on the basis that Kate McCann first answered all the questions she so carefully refused to answer when she was confronted with them by the PJ in Portimao.

McCann - v - Amaral

Following on from the European ban on the sale of Detective Amaral's book, "The truth of the Lies", the McCanns now appear to be after blood according to a further report in the press. Surely the McCanns must realise that a European ban will only serve to create a much larger demand and one will be able to obtain copies through the Internet from places far and wide. There will also be a secondary market for the book in other languages and we can just see the translators already getting their heads down over their desks and other language volumes will be available within days if they are not already.

Despite the book ban there is a 6 part video available on the internet where Amaral explains in graphic form his findings and theories (with English translation). This is the first part. It may be illegal to watch it, we don't know, but we are sure many people have and many people will continue to do so.

We think everyone has formed their own opinions on what may have or may not have happened to Madeleine McCann. One thing we cannot understand is why the McCanns are so anxious to suppress Amaral's words! Surely whatever he has said will stimulate thoughts in other people and keep the matter of the missing child before the public at large. Their attention should be 100% on the job of finding the child, dead or alive, whichever the case may be.

McCanns silence the Book

In today's Daily Express there is a very small article that reports the McCanns successful application for an Injunction to have the Book "The Truth of the Lies" removed from the Bookshelves of European retailers. This is the book written by Gonzales Amaral, the Senior Detective initially acting for the Portuguese Police in the case of the missing Madeleine McCann. A TV Documentary suffered the same fate.

330,000 copies have been sold and considering that it is only available in Portuguese it has proved very popular. (We have a copy in Portuguese if anyone wants to have a shuftie.)

The McCanns are reported as saying, "Mr Amaral's central thesis has no evidence whatsoever to support it." Excusing the bad grammar, we wonder how the expertise of a Senior Detective and his team can be less reliable than that of two professional adults who chose to leave their three very young children unattended whilst they went out on an evening of drink and food.

Cann the Red Herrings!

Over past weeks there has been a number of so called "leads" in the Madeleine McCann abduction case.

First we had the British paedophile who was languishing in a German Hospital but who had "been seen" near to the Algarve apartment from which Maddie was "snatched". This lead seems to have fizzled out.

Then came the mysterious woman who approached the skipper of a yacht in Barcelona asking if he had her "new Daughter". Despite an excellent description of the suspect as being a Victoria Beckham look alike, nothing more seems to have come from that lead.

Following on from this was the Australian yacht that never was in the Algarve but that gave the hired "dicks" the chance to have a few weeks in the Antipodes at the expense of the Maddie search fund. Like all the other leads and pieces of information nought has yet come from Oz.

How many more of these red herrings will we be subject to before someone comes up with something really worthwhile? One question many ask is, are these Detectives employed by the McCann fund, only restricting their enquiries to such pieces of information or are they retracing all aspects of the case including investigating those persons who were made Arguidos by the Portuguese Police? It could be that by going over old ground some aspects of the case could be interpreted in a different way and alternative conclusions realised.

TINNED McCANN

Today's Express is once again giving front page news to the case of the missing Madeleine McCann. It seems that a well respected businessman, a Banker no less, was approached by a Victoria Beckham look alike just 72 hours after Maddies disappearance, who asked him if he was "delivering" her new Daughter. This happened in Barcelona just a short days hop from the Algarve where Maddie was allegedly abducted.

Can this be real? Or is it just another red herring to keep the publicity machine going? How on Earth can a Banker, who one would regard as having more than a few grey cells, keep such information to himself for over two years? Where was he in the few days after Maddie disappeared? Did he not read newspapers or watch television? And why has he now come out of the woodwork to splash this information around the media?

With this information at their fingertips, surely the detectives should have kept it to themselves, which would have given them a chance of finding the suspect without alerting her to the hunt? Or is it just an excuse for a jaunt off to the Antipodes for these Private Dicks who so far appear to have achieved very little in the quest to find Maddie? Time will tell!

The day following the above report, new headlines tell of a "mystery yacht" that upped anchor from Portimao Harbour the day after Maddies disappearance and has not been seen since! The Captain, if the helmsman of a 40 foot yacht can be called such, told the harbour authorities that he was going to Albufeira about 30 miles along the coast. Apparently it did not call into Albufeira - maybe there was a change of mind as to where they would sail next, or did they say something that sounded like Albufeira?

The incident was made known to the Portuguese Police and searches have failed to find any trace of the yacht. Apparently the yacht was Swedish registered but the name of the vessel has not been publicised, if it were indeed known. With the thousands of motor yachts in and around Europe looking for a white yacht whose name is not known could prove very difficult, but will no doubt give the detectives another month or so in employment.

Madeleine was here - Channel 4 - 7/5/09

Last night, like many other people who are also intrigued with the Madeleine McCann disappearance, we watched the program on Channel 4, "Madeleine was here".

I did not find the program particularly enthralling as it seemed to have been made up of a few shots here and a few shots there. Nevertheless, very good publicity for the McCanns.

I did find one of Gerry's comments rather strange during the piece with the people updating Maddie's image. He said, "We remember the last day she was in Portugal and what she looked like." I thought this was a most peculiar statement, and it begs the question was this just a slip of the tongue or what was Maddies "last day in Portugal" in his mind? What did he actually mean by this statement?

One other thing bothered me. The "person" seen carrying a child had the child over his arms. It is normal for a small child to be carried over the shoulder - this being the most comfortable for the carrier and the carried. It is unusual for a child to be carried in the way shown, unless it was not a child. The only other thought I have is that it could possibly be a lifeless body which would be carried in such a way. If it were a lifeless body why would an abductor bother to carry it anywhere? The reverence with which it was being carried may also tend to indicate that there may have been a connection between the person and the body.

If the body were Maddie then who was the person?

As the mystery of Maddie's disappearance continues, so will the questions, and one day the final truth of the matter will emerge.

WHERE IS MADDIE?

The Parents of Madeleine McCann have once again kicked their publicity machine into action in an effort to revitalise the search for the return of their Daughter who was apparently abducted in Portugal 2 years ago.

The photograph has been updated to give an impression of what Maddie may look like now that she is 6 years old and this is being shown on new publicity material being handed out.

Maddies disappearance was certainly a mystery with no real witnesses to any abduction and the peculiar circumstances during the dinner of the parents and their friends. Questions that keep cropping up are why did the parents leave the 3 children alone, and why was Maddie the one chosen to be abducted when taking one of the twins would have been much simpler and would have been easier to conceal in the long term? Was it an opportunist abduction or something that was pre-planned? Why was so much effort put into pointing the finger at Murat, or was this just a red herring to divert attention away from other possible suspects? Sadly the initial investigations left much evidence untouched and unchecked which put the the whole solving of the case in jeapody. Later forensic evidence was unreliable and it is now obvious that the case will only be solved if Maddie is found.

We wish the McCanns well and hope that they will see a positive outcome in the near future.

MADDIE'S WORLD TOUR

I am a bank guard and on the CCTV I see Madeleine McCann so I just sit there and do sweet FA!

Now if it had been a Bank Robber or someone attacking a little old lady I would have donned my Bank Guard's hat and sprung into action! But as it was I have just become another has "seen".

Such is the background to the story in the headlines today!

We are constantly amazed by the reactions of all those people who are "certain" that they have seen little Maddie in places all over the World but who just sit on the sidelines, do nothing, and then report the matter to the police at some later time. Surely one of these people must have the gumption to shout, grab the girl, lash out at the "abductors" and at least do something to try and resolve the situation. Unless the other person were the guilty party no-one should object to being approached, particularly as the whole sorry affair has had World Wide publicity.

A few shopkeepers in the Llandudno area have been asked what they would do if a person entered their shop with a child they thought was Maddie, and the general reply was that they would certainly take some positive action. Perhaps if others had done the same then, by now, the whole Maddie saga could well have been closed.

.

It is, however, unfortunate that there are thousands of little girls who could be mistaken for Madeleine and the sightings will no doubt continue for many months to come. Perhaps one of these "sightings" will remind the observer that there is still a massive reward and prompt some serious action.
